Welcome to Heather Ridge Farm!

Heather Ridge Farm is a premier equestrian center located in the heart of Illinois, between Kankakee and Dwight—an easy drive from the suburbs of Chicago on Route 55. Our equestrian center fulfills a dream our family has had for many years. While we offer exceptional riding lessons for children and adults—from 3 to 93 years old—it is our special mission to bring a unique opportunity to individuals with special needs, allowing them to experience the freedom and joy horseback riding brings.

We are a NARHA® Center and are proud to participate in NARHA’s Premier Accredited Center Program, which gives us the chance to demonstrate excellence in providing quality, professional equine assisted activities.

Volunteers are what drive our program.  To learn more about becoming a volunteer, please contact us. We will be happy give you further information about the responsibilities and material benefits of volunteering.  If you don't have a fear of horses, we can train you!

We also sponsor many events and activities throughout the year to entertain, teach and delight. We are a working farm and enjoy showing our riders and their families around. Our horses are all trained to be sensitive to the special needs person. We provide a wonderful opportunity for everyone in the family to enjoy a day in the country!
